This McGill Microwave Systems 4dBi Tuned Antenna is optimized for high performance especially for the Helium Network. It offers higher coverage and increased HNT earnings thanks to its optimization.

The McGill Microwave Systems Antenna is optimized for the UK/EU Helium hotspots in the 868 frequency band. Often antennas are universal for more frequencies, but this results in suboptimal performance.

This antenna operates in the frequency range: 865 – 870 MHz UK/EU 865 UK & Europe, IN 865 India, RU 864 Russia. It has 4dBi gain and vertical polarization.

The antenna offers more than 7% improvement in transmitted power along with a 1.3:1 VSWR performance. It also results in reduced mis-matched loss when compared to many commercially available 2:1 VSWR performance. The antenna offers 58+/-1 degrees (4dBi) signal radiation footprint.

The McGill Microwave Systems Antenna uses N Type Male connector and it is made from fiberglass. It is 520mm high with 20mm in diameter. It weighs 0.8gh and it is rated for winds of up to 126km/h. It is RoHs Compliant and it also offers a mounting bracket, included in the box.

Антената има средно усилване от 8 dBi, дължина 86 см, честотен диапазон от 860-880MHz и се предлага в комплект с крепежи за монтаж на стълб или стена. Специална антена, с излъчване наклонено с 10° към земята, и потиснати нежелани горни лобове, това осигурява по-добро покритие на областта под антената. Обхватът на тази антена е няколко десетки километра, той зависи от височината на монтаж, вида на Helium устройството( мощност и чувствителност на радио модула), качеството на използваните кабел и конектори , както и от терена и конфигурацията на точките за достъп от другата страна на връзката. Корпусът на антената е заземен, което го предпазва от електростатичен разряд (електрическите заряди, които се появяват на антената, се разреждат към заземителната система). The unique 8.0 dBi Tuned Directional Antenna is both directional and has the additional significant advantage that it can be tilted or moved in the Azimuth direction – unlike all other Omni Directional Antennas.Omni directional Antennas radiate 360 degrees – this unique flat panel Antenna design is radically different in that it takes all of the radiated energy which usually would be transmitted behind and to the side of the Antenna and focuses all of this RF energy into the forward direction only –in one very wide and high beam – typically 70 degrees in Azimuth and Elevation. 

Typical applications:

• Where it’s desired to steer /direct the Radiated beam into a large or difficult to reach target area. This is achieved by utilising the unique feature of this Antenna design of being able to tilt or move in the Antenna utilising it’s tillable and rotatable Antenna Mount (supplied) to focus the      large beam exactly in the direction required.
• Ideal for mounting on high up Balconies or Tower Blocks where Antennas are blocked from radiating in the rearwards direction.
• Installations located on the coast where transmission to the antenna rear is not required/desired.

It comes sealed inside a new and improved IP67 weatherproof enclosure. Your antennas are now safe during a lightning storm. Now add the GESP+POE-IN injector below the mast - to protect the switches and to power the antennas.
Don’t forget about the grounding wire! Secure it to the rackmount, mast, or any other structure that is connected to the ground. For maximum protection, you should use a surge protector on both ends of long cables. These small devices can make all the difference when it comes to lightning strikes or static build-up. The GESP units can usually absorb multiple impacts, but make sure to check their condition after each surge. For attachment of GESP units, we recommend using PVC zip ties. Just don’t make it too tight.You know what they say – hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
