LTU is a proprietary platform, which doesn't use 802.11 protocol, making it incompatible with 802.11n and 802.11ac devices. For that reason, it is not compatible with airMAX M5 nor with airMAX 5AC.

LTU-Instant-5 is a set of five LTU heads for upgrading the LBE-5AC-Gen2 from AC to LTU. It is a PtMP client unit for the 5GHz band with an antenna gain of 22 dBi (used with LBE-5AC-Gen2) and LTU's proprietary wireless technology, which is not built on the limited 802.11 standard, thus achieving real TCP/IP speed of 550 Mbps+, modulation up to 1024 QAM and higher spectral efficiency 21.2 bps/Hz, which is double compared to the 802.11AC standard!
